Lucas Ohio Pattie Finalist at Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas
Lucas was a finalist at the celebrated Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas. Started in 1972 and the longest continuously-running music festival in North America, the Festival has been known internationally as a destination for singer/songwriters of various musical styles. Among the high points of the Festival is the much-anticipated songwriter competition established at the suggestion of Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary in 1972. Featuring "the best of America's emerging songwriters," Lucas was among 32 other finalists the jury selected from among 800 submissions from across the country and performed at the Festival's Threadgill Theatre. It is a major honor in the music industry to be selected as a finalist for this competition. Lucas was in Texas for almost five days, met many of the world's great singer/songwriters, and took in great performances.
